Registration for the Jan Cop & Zonen Doubles Open Christmas Tournament – the The most fun tournament of the year! 🎄 🎅🏼 – is closed.
The matches are scheduled, and we can get started!
📅 When: Thursday, December 18 to Sunday, December 28.
There will be no play on December 24, 25, and 26, so that everyone can enjoy the holidays.
On Saturday, December 27, a number of pool matches will be played first, and the semi-finals are scheduled from 17:30.
The final matches will take place on Sunday, December 28, starting at 10:30. In the morning and early afternoon, the matches for the best runners-up and best third-placed teams will be played first. The actual finals will be played starting at 13:30.
Afterwards, we will conclude with an awards ceremony and the lottery draw. Don't miss it – there are fantastic prizes to be won again!
No availability can be submitted for the final weekend.
🎫 Lottery:
On Sunday, December 28 – after the tournament prize-giving ceremony – there will be an exciting lottery where many great prizes can be won. The grand prize this year: A weekend getaway for two people to a Van Der Valk Hotel of your choice in the Netherlands. That is, of course, exactly what you are looking for after the hustle and bustle of the holidays, but well… you still have to actually win it 😉. Plus, there are many other great prizes to win!
Such a prize is of course a nice bonus, but around Christmas, the lottery focuses on charity. This year, that charity is: Pim Mulier Society. The Société Pim Mulier provides support for young, talented athletes. Support them by buying a lottery ticket. Thank you in advance! 🎾🙏
A ticket costs €2.00 each and can be purchased at the match table throughout the tournament. The buyer does not necessarily have to be present during the lottery, but the ticket must be present. You may therefore give the ticket to someone else if you wish, but it is of course much more fun if you are there yourself.
The lottery will take place on Sunday, December 28, after the prize ceremony, around 7:00 PM. The schedule is subject to change, so keep an eye on the competition schedule!
📌 Where: The tournament is played on the indoor courts at TV Kontakt.
🎾 Game format:
The game is played in 12 different pools.
These are various Women's Doubles, Men's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles pools, and there is a special Fun Pool.

Match duration:
The matches last two times 25 minutes after a 10-minute warm-up. You count the games per match.
A buzzer will sound at the half-hour mark before the end of the match. This is also a signal that the next players can take to the court.
The buzzer sounds for the start of the first half a few minutes past the half-hour mark, and for the start of the second half a few minutes past the hour.
You then switch sides. The buzzer is legally valid, so pay no attention to the clock in the hall.
Scoring:
In the event of a tie (e.g. 4-4 or 5-5), each gets 2 points.
With a one-game difference (e.g. 5-4 or 4-3), the winning party receives 3 points and the loser 1 point.
In the event of a difference of more than one game, the winning party receives 4 points and the loser 0 points.
The signal for the end of the match is also the starting signal for the next match.
Make sure you get on the court immediately, otherwise you'll start with a game disadvantage.
🏆 Determine winner of the (semi-)final match:
In the group matches, it was possible for a match to end in a draw.
Of course, this is not the case in a decisive (semi-)final match. There, only one winner emerges!
At the moment there is a tie in terms of match points in a decisive match:
- Then the total number of winning games is looked at first.
- If the number of winning games is also equal, the score of the last ongoing game (the game that was in progress when the buzzer sounded) is decisive.
- If even that is equal, the decision will be made at the match table by the tournament management.
💶 Registration fee: €13.50 per person per activity.
The amount will be debited from the account via direct debit in the second half of December.
